CRANSTON, R.I.—In his new role as VP at booming security and home automation provider Alliance Security, Travis Miller, a former Monitronics director, will focus on the company’s increasing expansion.
“Alliance has grown exponentially over the past few years; there are a lot of [customers] knocking on the door. We’re trying to hone in on different verticals. We’ll be testing the waters,” he said.
“On the business development side, it’s pretty fresh. This year we had 70,000 new installs and next year the goal would be to put in 100,000. My task is to support that growth by diversifying the market,” he said.
Alliance also has a “sub-dealer program that is a sales arm for us,” he said, in which the company will help other dealers facilitate installations and provide necessary infrastructure for them.
That program has evolved, but Miller will work to “fine tune” it, he said, “putting it on a catapult” to bring in more sub-dealers to bring in new business.
“But truly, my job is all about business development,” he said.
Miller, a past SSN “20 under 40” award winner, had dealt with Alliance during his time at Monitronics. He always respected the company and its leaders, he said. He moved from Dallas to work at Alliance’s new headquarters here in late June.
Alliance, which expects to increase its sales from $56 million to $110 million this year and double its workforce to 600, now has a 60,000-square-foot HQ. The company has a presence in 46 states.
Miller has more than 12 years of experience in the industry, most recently as director of dealer development at Monitronics. Before that, he co-founded Stone Security, where he served as manager of sales and operations. Prior to Monitronics, Miller managed sales and operations at Stone Security, a company he co-founded in 2004. He also was involved in the creation of CRM Engarde.
He also said he wants to align himself closely with Alliance’s “giving back” programs.Topic: Residential Tags: Alliance Security, Travis Miller
