SANTA ANA, Calif. and CONSHOHOCKEN, Pa.—Allied Universal, a leading facility services company and security force in North America with over 150,000 employees based here, has acquired FJC Security Services, a provider of uniformed security professionals based in Floral Park, N.Y.
This deal follows the recent acquisition in September of Apollo International, a security company that had corporate headquarters in Walpole, Mass., and a global office in New York.
Allied Universal CEO Steve Jones said he is “extremely excited to have FJC be part of the Allied Universal family,” noting that the acquisition further increases Allied Universal’s presence in the Northeast.
“This one had been in the works for almost a year, and we are very excited that we were able to work with FJC owners to make this happen,” Jones told Security Systems News. “This deal, along with the Apollo acquisition, strengthens our footprint in the Northeast, and really enhances our capabilities in that area.”
FJC provides uniformed security professionals and has a leadership team with law enforcement and military background. The company, formed in 1988, had annual revenue totals approaching $300 million and a staff of 6,300 serving residential complexes, college campuses, government buildings, healthcare facilities, commercial businesses and construction projects for major airports and high-profile public landmarks. Financial terms of the deal were not released.
“FJC did a lot of local, state and federal government contracts, which enhances our ability to provide service to those sectors, those vertical markets that we were not strong in previously,” said Jones. “So we are aligning with a good company that is also strategic fit for us in that it opens up some new opportunities for us in the northeast, which is a key market for us.”
FJC chairman and CEO Frank Califano said in the announcement that FJC clients “can expect the same levels of service that our experience has provided over the past 28 years; but now with additional capabilities and resources.”
Jones said that Allied Universal continues to be busy on the acquisition front, noting, “We have a couple more deals that we are working on that we hope to announce before the end of the year.”Topic: Commercial and Systems Integrators Tags: Allied Universal, Steve Jones, FJC Security Services, Frank Califano
